Schedgy ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Schedgy mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information about you when you use our app. By using Schedgy, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
- Account Information — your email address, username, and password when you sign up
- Profile Information — profile photo and any information you choose to add to your profile
- Location Data — approximate location when you use the Local Events feed, only while the app is in use
- Photos — only photos you explicitly choose to upload for your profile or event cover photos
- Event Data — events you create, RSVPs, likes, comments, and calendar information
- Date of Birth — collected at signup solely to verify you meet our minimum age requirement
- Usage Data — how you interact with the app, device type, and operating system
- Push Notification Tokens — to send you notifications about events, messages, and activity
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the Schedgy service
- To show you relevant local events near you
- To send push notifications you have opted into
- To enable social features like following, messaging, and event sharing
- To verify you meet our minimum age requirement of 13
- To improve and develop the app over time
Information We Share
- Public Profile & Events — your username, profile photo, and public events are visible to other Schedgy users
- Service Providers — we use Supabase for data storage, authentication, and database hosting; Expo for push notifications and app infrastructure; and Skiddle to source local event listings shown in the Discover feed
- Legal Requirements — we may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account, which permanently and irreversibly removes your data from our systems, typically within 30 days.
Your Rights
You may access, update, export, or delete your information at any time through the app's Settings screen under Your Privacy Rights. To request a data export, correction, or ask questions about your data, contact us at privacy@getschedgy.com.
Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your personal information, correct inaccurate information, and opt out of the sale of your personal information. Schedgy does not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of — but you can confirm this at any time from Settings → Your Privacy Rights → Do Not Sell My Personal Information. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@getschedgy.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Children's Privacy
Schedgy is not directed at children under 13 and requires all users to confirm their date of birth at signup. Our systems automatically reject account creation for anyone who indicates they are under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account or provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at privacy@getschedgy.com so we can delete the account.
Security
We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) to protect your data in transit. Your data is stored securely via Supabase with row-level security enabled. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of Schedgy after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
